--Hojo Railway is a third-sector railway that connects Ao in Hyogo Prefecture and Hojo Town, and was born in April 1985 due to the conversion from the Hojo Line of the National Railways.
--Kiha 40-535 is a former JR (JNR) diesel car that will be introduced to Hojo Railway for the purpose of increasing transportation capacity.
--It was delivered to the Hojo Railway in December 2021, and preparations have been made for the start of operation since then, and commercial operation is scheduled to start on March 13, 2022.
