The Series 12 passenger cars are the first new series of passenger cars since the Series 20 Blue Train. Series 12 entered service in 1969, the year before the 1970 World Exposition in Osaka, to improve transportation capacities for the event. A major feature is that the passenger cars provided their own power, as the SUHFU 12 was equipped with diesel engines under the floor to generate power for six cars. The SUHAFU 12 was widely used not only for extra and group trains, but also for regular and express trains.

・The seats with armrests and handrails, three-dimensional trucks, under-floor equipment with piping, coolers as separate parts, ventilators, and other details are reproduced.
・Accurate reproduction of the blue car body with white belt that extends onto the doors.
・SUHAFU 12 and OHAFU 13 are equipped with functional taillights.
・The TR217 trucks have three-dimensional details such as secondary suspension and brake shoes.
・The jumper cable on the gable couplers is recreated as a separate part.
・Equipped with KATO couplers.
・Incl. expansion drawbar and lettering sheet with many different car numbers.
・Selectable side direction display with one "Express" option and one with a white belt.
