[Actual vehicle guide]
- The C58 type appeared in 1938 as a passenger and freight locomotive to replace the 9600 type freight locomotive and the 8620 type passenger locomotive manufactured in the Taisho era.
-In addition to being active on local lines all over Japan, including Hokkaido and Shikoku, similar machines were also manufactured for private railways and Karafuto.
- In the Tohoku region, C58 type was used on many routes such as Rikuu East Line, Rikuu West Line, Yamada Line, Hachinohe Line branching from Tohoku Main Line
-The C58 type 239 was manufactured in 1940 and was initially active in the Kansai area such as the Inazawa engine depot and the Nara engine depot, but was transferred to the Miyako engine depot in 1943 and was used in the Tohoku region until it was scrapped, and finally Hachinohe. Used until 1972 in locomotive depots
- This machine pulled the last steam locomotive train on the Yamada Line in 1970
- After being scrapped, it was statically preserved at the Iwate Prefectural Sports Park, but as part of the recovery support from the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, it was decided to restore the dynamics, and in 2012, it was brought to the Omiya General Rolling Stock Center for restoration work. has been carried out
-In 2014, the restoration work was completed and the car registration was restored, and since then it has been working as a towing machine for [SL Ginga], which belongs to the Morioka Rolling Stock Center and is operated on the Kamaishi Line.
- [SL Ginga] is scheduled to end operation in the spring of 2023 due to the aging of the Kiha 141 series used as passenger cars.

- Painting and printing reproduces the appearance immediately after the start of operation in 2014, without any decorations on the runboard, chimney, or cylinder.
- The cab window and door window are reproduced with the image of the operation, and the armrest is reproduced with a mold.
- When restoring the dynamic state, reproduce the newly manufactured snowplow for installing the ATS, the heavy oil tank installed in the tender, and the relocated water supply lid.
-The front headlight is a sealed beam LP405 type, and the tender light is a large LP403 type.
