In 2012, the vehicle of the JR Freight Toyama Agency Department has been revised to add 600 to the current number to show the difference of security equipment between the 0th generations of the passenger company.
The 600th generation car was used for towing freight trains on the Japan Kai Vertical Line until 2016.
