The DD51 shape placed in Hokkaido has been strengthened with cold and snow resistant structures such as snow plow and pivoting windows, and some of the radiator covers on the side of the hood were removed.
Replaces steam locomotive like D51 and C57 and used by both cargo and passenger trains.
