Bringing Playfulness to Life: Hasegawa’s Mechatro Wego Models Explored

Hasegawa 20 Mechatro Wego No.01 Light Green

The Mechatroweigo has gotten bigger!

Model Height: Approx. 5.1 inches (13 cm), in 1/20 scale. The size has increased, and the design is packed with details and features. From opening the hatch on the stomach to elevating the boarding unit, the movable gimmicks are fully reproduced without any replacements. The crown hatch is also movable. A new wrist design has been implemented with an extended feature.

In the joints of the knees and ankles, interference parts naturally shift when moving, thereby increasing the range of motion. Parts of the abdomen and back panels can be removed to reveal internal mechanics and structures. The set includes a boy figure in a boarding position, with five colors and clear parts. No glue is required for assembly (note that glue is needed for assembling the boy figures). The packaging illustrations are done by the artist.

Hasegawa Mechatro Chubu 01 No.01 `Light Green & Green`

Chubu No. 1 is the origin of the Mechatro series, created by Kazushi Kobayashi, a modeler known for delivering various original robots, including the popular "Mechatroweigo."

The original model, released in 2006 as "Chubu No. 1," has been updated to a 1/35 scale plastic model.

This set includes two models: "Uzumidori" and "Midori." It features four colored parts that do not require glue, making it easy to assemble, even for beginners.

Articulated joints allow for a variety of poses, and the set includes a tow dolly that doubles as a box. It can also carry the Mechatroweigo.

Additionally, the set includes a female driver figure designed by Satoshi Tsujimura (note that glue is needed to assemble the figure).

The box art is by master artist Shin Ueda!
