[Actual vehicle guide]
--The 485 series, which was active in JR Kyushu, was significantly renewed both inside and outside in order to eliminate the gap with the new limited express that appeared after privatization.
-[RED EXPRESS] was initially a paint variation that was applied to the 5-car train [Kamome] that was combined with [Midori], and later spread to vehicles that were allocated to [Nichirin] and [Ariake].
-[KIRISHIMA EXPRESS] is a dedicated vehicle allocated to the limited express [Kirishima] that was born when the system was separated between Miyazaki and Nishikagoshima in the operation section of [Nichirin] in 1995. It features the Kumoha 485 type that has been converted into a car.
