1/80(HO) J.R. Electric Locomotive Type ED79-0 (H Rubber Gray / Prestige Model)
[Real car guide]
-Model ED79 was created by remodeling model ED75-700 as a dedicated locomotive for the opening of the Seikan Tunnel in 1988.
-Special security equipment was installed and high-speed support was used, mainly used between Aomori and Hakodate.
-There were 21 cars in the 0th generation, used for both passenger and freight trains, but retired from freight operations in 2006 and retired from passenger operations when the Hokkaido Shinkansen opened in 2016
-In the 100th generation, 13 cars appeared as auxiliary locomotives for freight train towing, used between Aomori and Hakodate, but all retired in 2006
-In the 100th generation, since the security device was installed only on the 2 end side, it was always connected to the Hakodate side in a double row with the 0th generation and operated
-At the time of appearance, the color of the H rubber was gray and the inspection lid was on the side, but later the H rubber was blackened and the inspection lid was embedded, and some vehicles in the 0th generation are from 2010 2-end pantograph changed to single arm
