--The 485 series limited express train appeared in 1968 as a vehicle that can handle DC and AC 50Hz / 60Hz, and was active on major electrified routes nationwide.
--Early vehicles featured a mushroom-shaped cover on the roof cooler.
--The group of bonnet type Kuha 481 with a large capacity motor generator under the floor was divided into 100s.
--Kuro 481 is the leading green car manufactured for line sections with restrictions on M / T ratio and knitting growth, and this type of large-capacity motor-generator-equipped car was also classified in the 100s.
