[About the actual ship]
--The destroyer Kagero was completed at the Maizuru Naval Arsenal in November 1945, when the war was approaching as the first nameship of the 19 Kagero-class destroyers.
――The heat haze type is a ship class that brings together the development know-how of the special type and the white dew type, and the displacement has reached 2,000 tons, three 12.7 cm twin guns, and two 61 cm quadruple torpedo launchers. It was a fleet-type destroyer with a base of 52,000 horsepower and a displacement of 35 knots.
--Because of its high follow-up ability, Kagero was engaged in the escort of the aircraft carrier task force consisting of Akagi and Kaga in the beginning of the Pacific War, and was also engaged in the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Port Darwin air raid, and the Indian Ocean operation.
--Participated in various operations to recapture Guadalcanal Island from the time of the US military landing / counterattack in the Solomon Islands, engaged in transportation etc. in the Solomon Islands after Operation Ke (Operation Ke withdrawal), but in May 1941 Kolombangara During the Guadalcanal campaign, he was struck by lightning and died in the Bracket Strait.
