98524 J.N.R. Commuter Train Type 72/73 (Kabe Line) Set (4-Car Set)
── Commercialized the nostalgic 72.73 series that was active on the Kabe Line
[Actual vehicle guide]
-The 72/73 type trains were active as standard commuter trains in the Tokyo and Osaka metropolitan areas after the war. There was a difference in the depth of the roof and the dolly
- After the introduction of series 101/103, it was gradually diverted to replace 17m class vehicles on local lines, and was active as a vehicle for passenger sales until 1985.
- In the Hiroshima area, the same type was introduced when the Kure line was electrified in 1970, and because the operation distance was long at that time, toilets were installed in all Saha 78 cars and some Kuha 79 cars
- The Kabe Line is a nationalized line of the Hirohama Railway, and until around 1960, miscellaneous trains derived from nationalized private railways called Kabuki Kokuden were active. -The Kumoha 73 and Kuha 79 types, which were transferred from the Kure Line due to the introduction of the 70 series trains on the Kure Line, played an active role.
- On the Kabe Line, it was active in a maximum of 4-car trains, mainly during rush hours, and some trains were running to Kaitaichi Station on the Sanyo Main Line via Hiroshima Station.
- The Kabe Line's 72/73 series were used alongside the Toyamako Line until the end of the year, but were retired in 1984 with the introduction of the 105 series.
