The Kosai Line runs from Yamashina Station in Kyoto Prefecture to Omi-Shiotsu Station in Shiga Prefecture, and as the name suggests, it passes along the western shore of Lake Biwa and connects the Kansai area and the Hokuriku area.
The Yamashina-Omi Shiotsu line opened on July 20, 1974, and July 2024 will mark the 50th anniversary of its opening.
The 113 series is a DC suburban train that appeared in 1963.
The 113 series 700 series was newly introduced to the Kosai Line with the opening of the line, and is cold-resistant and snow-resistant because it runs on the west shore of Lake Biwa, which is a snowy area.
In addition, in addition to being equipped with air conditioning from the time of manufacture and equipped with a side window of the unit sash, a destination indicator was attached to the side from the time of its appearance, so the side sabot receiver has been omitted.
When the Kosai Line opened in 1974, a commemorative front mark was displayed on some 113 series 700s.

The TN coupler on the driver's cab side of the lead car has a small body receiver and a pipe mold on the side.

ATS on-board parts that can be installed under the floor of the Kuha are included.
The jumper hose on the front of the Kuha 111-700 type is reproduced as a separate part.
The head and tail lights and front display are equipped with a constantly lit board and an ON-OFF switch.
The head, tail lights, and front display are lit by bulb-colored LEDs.
The front display is lit in a color close to white by adopting a color prism.
The front display is interchangeable and pre-printed par "Kosai Line (red)" installed, and replacement parts are included.
The car number is selectable and a transfer sheet is included.
H rubber is reproduced in gray.
The toilet sink pipe is already installed.
Flywheel power, new current collection system, and black wheels are adopted.
A TN coupler (SP) with piping is standard equipment between each connecting surface.
M-13 motor is adopted.
